Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is primarily made available for people who are attending the
drug and alcohol support groups at Second Chance. This counseling is used to aid
recovering participants in learning clean and sober living and coping skills, and also
to deal with issues too sensitive to be discussed at the group level.

Individual counseling is also available as needed to participants in Second Chance's
Deinstitutionalization of Status Offender program and to Medi-Cal recipients needing
help for some mental health issues.

This counseling is offered by appointment at all of Second Chance's outpatient centers.
There is no fee charged. The general number (510-792-4357) can give more information.
Current program participants can talk to any staff member.
